I recently learned a little bit of Regex and tried my hand at it. RBI data is awesome but some of the main information is available in the form of PDFs and thus, we can use these scripts to extract them.
For my presentation India’s Investment Function Simulation, I needed to read data from PDFs and this could have been done by copy pasting with hand, but I felt adventurous and decided to use regex searching for doing the same.automation
FYI, I just came to know that we already have all this data in
excelformat in RBI’s Handbook of statistics, which I eventually used for my presentation India’s Investment Function Simulation
